Religious
Formation
Dear
Parents and Guardians:
We are now accepting registration for the St. Mary Religious
Formation program starting this Fall.
You, as parents and guardians, are integral to the success
of this program. The primary role of educator is that of
the parents and guardians. Our Catechists are entrusted
with the mission of sharing the message with your children
on a weekly basis. Your children look to you as the example.
You are called to be a model of a lived faith – a
faith in action. Your regular attendance and participation
at Mass, reinforcement of classroom teaching, emphasis on
regular attendance and of weekly classes and leading a sacramental
life will speak more clearly than any words can say.
The school of Religious Education here at St. Mary Parish
faces a continuing challenge of providing enough Catechist’s
to staff our program. Your participation in our program
is necessary for it to run smoothly and effectively. Please
consider volunteering to act as catechists, substitute,
team teacher or hall monitor. We are certainly aware that
our lives are busy but what better way to show your child
the importance of his/her “faith education”
than to come and help out!
Registrations for the coming year may be downloaded (through the link
in the box at the top-right of the page) and completed at home and brought with you to the
rectory to save you time. If your child is a new student
and has never attended the program before a copy of their
baptismal certificate is required. Classes for all children
in grades 1 through 8 are offered on Sunday and Wednesday.
A limited enrollment will be taken for our Summer Program.
Students entering grades 3 - 8 are eligible for these sessions.
Two Saturday sessions in the Fall/Winter or Spring are required
and these dates will be given during the summer session.
Next year, we will also check attendance allowing those
families who attend Mass on a weekly basis - preference.
Attendance will be checked by your use of the envelope system.
This is the ONLY way we can trace your attendance.
When filling out your forms make sure that they are filled
out carefully. Please give careful consideration to your
choice of day since we cannot always accommodate changes.
Sincerely,
Betty Hatler
Coordinator of Religious Education
